Course overview
The goal of this certification course is to ensure participants satisfy all requirements enforced by PMI to sit the certification exam and prepare participants to pass this exam. A project manager’s primary goal is to ensure completion of the project on time and within budget, meet requirements, and keep customers and team members happy. Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification equips you to do this, even in the context of highly demanding projects. In this Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification course, the participant gains a deep understanding of essential terminology and knowledge areas that make up the PMBOK® Guide to prepare you to pass the PMP certification exam. Microsoft® Project 2016 is a powerful project management tool that can be used to help build project plans; track work completed and identify variances from project baselines. However, we usually find that professionals who understand the theory and concepts of project planning, scheduling and control are often frustrated by the difficulty of applying them to Microsoft® Project.
This 3-day training programme is designed for professionals who desire to bridge the gap between theory and the practical use of MS Project. Our lead facilitator: Dr. Joseph Khan
Joseph Ishmael Khan is an independent Project Management Consultant who holds a professional Doctoral Degree (DBA), the Master of Business Management degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Management. He is a Project Management Professional® (PMP®), Certified Project Consultant (CPC™) and Certified Planning Engineer™ (CPE™).
Dr. Khan served as a Director on the Board of Directors of eteck, a State Owned Enterprise in Trinidad and Tobago and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vanguard Hotel Limited (Owners of the Trinidad Hilton and Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort).
Dr. Khan has also functioned in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer, in Guyana with the CARICOM Secretariat. He has also worked on projects funded by International Development Agencies. In the formative stage of his career, he has worked as Project Coordinator, Mechanical Engineering Technician and Mechanical Inspector on a number of plant turn-around and construction projects.
Over the last 20 years, Dr. Khan has served as a facilitative consultant for local and regional public and private sector organizations, developing and implementing creative business solutions through the effective application of project management.
Dr. Khan is an adjunct lecturer with the Cavehill School of Business, UWI, Barbados, Faculty of Engineering, UWI, St Augustine and the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business. For these institutions, Joseph lectures in the EMBA, IMBA, SEMG and MSc Project Management.
